About university:

UTHM University Malaysia was formerly known as Pusat Latihan Staf Politeknik (PLSP) which was established on 16 September 1993. The core business of PLSP was to train and produce polytechnic faculty to become knowledgeable and skilled in various engineering fields. The training institute was jointly managed by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and the Malaysian Ministry of Education. KUiTTHO has continued to advance and produce skilled, knowledgeable and competitive graduates. As a result, the Malaysian government, on 20 September 2006, agreed to grant the university college full university status and changed its name to Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia. On 1 February 2007, Datuk Mustafa Mohamed, Minister of Higher Education officially announced the change in status.
