Istanbul Bilgi Private University was established in 1996 in the heart of Istanbul, Turkey. It has four university campuses. The main campus is located in the Sultan Eyup area on an area estimated at 148,000 square meters.

The university contains 7 colleges, 3 vocational schools, 5 institutes, and more than 150 study programs in various fields. Study at the university includes technical and administrative fields and does not include medical specialties, but it contains the Faculty of Health Sciences in Turkish, but most of its study programs are taught in English.

The university is distinguished by its high-quality educational level, and always aims to become one of the first levels among international and local universities, as it is the fourth university established in Turkey according to the classification.

It has many international recognitions and is a member of several other international institutions.

The university has more than 600 programs and exchange agreements in Europe and is considered one of the largest and most comprehensive Turkish university presses on the global level, as it has published more than 600 books.

It is one of 88 educational institutions affiliated with the Laureate International University Group located in 28 countries around the world, and it is also the only one to hold membership in the Laureate Global Network for the year 2006.

It has student exchange programs such as the Erasmus program, which gives students the opportunity to study for a year or a semester at any university in the European Union, and the Farabi program for Turkey and many countries of the world, including Canada, America, and Australia.
